Denmark + Winter

Melancholy is no bad thing – Sting

Subtle as snowflakes touching the ground, melancolic as winter wind, dark as nights in December…the interpretation of iconic songs of eighties by Denmark + Winter is simply haunting.

Original: Every Breath You Take, Police, 1983. This song made me discover the group (by the way, heard in “Stalker” series whose whole soundtrack is incredibly well chosen). Being performed by woman gives to this sinister and obsessive love song an extra spleen and depth.

Original: Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Culture Club, 1982.

Original: Enjoy the Silence, Depeche  Mode, 1990.

Original: Stand by Me, interpreted by Ben E. King, 1986.
